COT (Taiwan based company) has successfully developed and released a high optical output power Short-Wavelength-Infrared "SWIR HCSEL"(Horizontal Cavity Sueface Emitting Laser) which is the first surface emitting laser in this spectrum.
The newly developed 1300nm SWIR HCSEL chip achieves 200mW output power and higher one(400mW) is on the way, the HCSEL is suitable for sensing application such as under display proximity sensor for smart mobile phone and other wearable devices.
COT’s HCSEL platform can applied to InP base (SWIR) and GaN base (RGB), there’s no suitable DBR for VCSEL structure for those materials.
